Frequently Asked Questions

Okay, so what next?

If you’re ready to schedule, you’ll hit the contact form, and I will get back to you within 36 hours about scheduling a consultation call or intake appointment. I do not have an admin on staff, but I will get back to you ASAP!

Consultation Call?

This is for anyone who has further questions regarding services or if they want to make sure we’re a good fit. This is a 15 minute phone call where we’ll discuss your current challenges and give you the opportunity to ask questions to a real life human.

Do I even need therapy?

Anyone and everyone can benefit from therapy, but this is a personal choice, no pressure! Therapy can be a place to work through long standing issues, concerns with anxiety/depression/life changes/your annoying boss, your weird friends, or your a-hole partner. This is a personal journey, you get to decide the direction. Therapists can provide a fresh perspective on difficult problems or point you in the direction of a solution.

Cool! How often would we meet? And for how long?

That is completely up to you and your needs. Most clients are seen either weekly or every other week. We will discuss what you need in your intake. The length of your therapy journey is dependent on person to person. Some people need a few months, others are in therapy years/indefinitely. Everyone’s journey is unique.

But, what are sessions like?

Sessions are 45 - 60 minutes. We’ll usually do a recap of your last week and set some intentions around focus of session for the day. We’ll work on some techniques/skills and we’ll close out sessions usually with some “real world learning” aka homework assignments.

Online therapy though?

Yep! Research says that online therapy is just as effective as in person. Online therapy is a great resource for busy individuals who would not otherwise have the time or means to attend traditional in person services. There’s no travel time, and I’ve found that people are much more comfortable in their own spaces. I utilize Zoom (https://us06web.zoom.us/j/9122598046) for sessions - you can save this link.

What age ranges do you work with?

Ages 13+ years old. Exceptions may be made for those who are younger than 13 years old.

I'm using insurance.
How much will it cost?

Eh, insurance can vary unfortunately. I can do an eligibility check, but honestly, it is best for you to call Member Services (on the back of your insurance card) and verify benefits with them. On our forms page, there is an “Insurance Verification” form to help guide that conversation with your insurance! If you don’t complete this before the session, until we actually bill your insurance company, we cannot be 100% sure what your final bill is. I know, frustrating right?! Another thing: everyone has a different insurance plan, so even though you might be getting the same services as another person, you may be paying a different amount out of pocket. We do not set the rate you pay – this is 100% set by your individual insurance plan. Because of this, we require a card be held on file for potential future payments. We will not charge your card without letting you know.

Can you evaluate me for asd/adhd?

A formal diagnosis requires a PhD level clinician (psychologist). What I can do is help you decide whether that would be something that may benefit you along with supporting those who have formal diagnoses navigate challenges (see Services page).

Don't be shy. Here are some tips:

1. Briefly explain who you are, and what brings you here?

2. What do you want (i.e. an initial consult or a question about fees or insurance)?

3. When are you available, and how best to reach you (phone, text or email)?
